Assignments in a project may vary greatly. But regardless of the variety, they all are unique experiences. Junior Experts are assigned in one of the 14 partner countries of the Belgian governmental development cooperation.

Is the Junior Programme really a stepping stone for an exciting career in Belgium or abroad?
Our last survey carried out in 2014 among 250 former Juniors Experts showcased this. Indeed, former Juniors Experts are very satisfied about their experience and 90% claim the Programme gave a boost to their career.
Most of them found work shortly after their return to Belgium. Almost two out of three (60%) continue working in development cooperation, mostly with an NGA.
As the objectives of the Junior Programme have been broadened to the SDG, we will shortly set up a survey with the former Junior Experts in order to know how many of them are still engaged, at professional or personal level, in the SDG after their field experience.
